According to the results, the company has achieved a net profit of Rs 284 crore in the first quarter (April-June) of the current financial year, compared to a loss of Rs 15,933 in the first quarter of the previous financial year (2020-21). The company’s revenue has increased by 15.3 percent in the first quarter of the current financial year. In the first quarter of the current financial year, it increased by 15.3 percent to Rs 26,854 crore as compared to the first quarter of the previous financial year.

The company’s ARPU also increased significantly

The average earnings per user (ARPU), which is considered to be an important measure of earnings of telecom companies, has also increased. In the first quarter of the last financial year, the ARPU was Rs 138, while in the first quarter of the current financial year, the ARPU increased to Rs 146. Commenting on the company’s results, its MD & CEO (India & South Asia) Gopal Vittal said that Airtel’s increased ARPU is a result of increase in quality customers.

The company has said that there has been a decline in its device shipments due to the COVID lockdown. Financial difficulties have arisen at the lower end of the market.
